R. Douglas Woodring passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 22, 2012 in Wilmington, NC.

He was born in Cliffside, NC on November 19, 1937 to Edna Bradley Woodring and Howard Woodring.

Doug spent most of his childhood in Gastonia, NC graduating from Ashley HS. He was a tire store manager for over 30 years, in Lincolnton, Cary and Smithfield.

He is survived by a son, Vic Woodring of Pittsburgh, PA, and a daughter Jill Woodring Caldwell and husband Bret, of Wilmington, and two grandchildren Luke and Kenan Caldwell.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, May 19, 2012 at Wilmington Funeral Chapel.
