Lucille Augusta Windley Allen born February 13, 1932 in Pantego, NC; died Saturday, December 3, 2016 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice in Wilmington, NC.

Parents were David Carlyle (Carl) Windley, Sr. and Ida Lumsden Jones Windley.

Surviving are: daughter, Andrea Allen Tyson and husband W. Dennis Tyson, Sr.; grandsons: William (Will) D. Tyson, Jr., and wife Stephanie Tyson, and W. Aaron Tyson; great-grandsons: William Dennis Tyson, III (Trey) and Jack Landen Tyson.

Lucille graduated summa cum laude from Pantego High School, attended Atlantic Christian College and graduated from Texas Christian University. She taught first grade in Texas and Alabama. After becoming a mother, Lucille focused on her job as a minister’s wife and at-home mother.  Later, Lucille began a career as a real estate broker, Realtor, working in Wilson and Wilmington NC.

Throughout her life, Lucille’s passion was her devotion to First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ, where she donated her hours and her love for Christian education.  Later in life she was honored by becoming an Elder Emeritus and remained active in the Wilmington church until late this summer, when a diagnosis of T-cell lymphoma proved quickly fatal.

Lucille wanted one statement to be known of her faith, “Lucille had the sure knowledge that nothing can separate her from the love of God”.

Memorial services will be held at 4 pm, Monday December 12th at First Christian Church, 2035 Oleander Drive, Wilmington, NC, with the family receiving visitors beginning at 3 pm.  Graveside service will be held in Belhaven, NC on Friday, December 16th, 2016.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Christian Church Memorial Fund.
