MaryKathryn Getz, 35, of Wilmington, passed away July, 24, 2016. She was born October 4, 1980, in Annapolis MD, to Thomas Getz & Paula Hart Eddens.

MaryKathryn would light up the room with her infectious smile. She never met a stranger and made friends with everyone she met. MaryKathryn had a special love for animals, especially for her rescued cat Emma, who was living in a car when she found her. When MaryKathryn wasn’t working at New Hanover Regional Medical Center’s oncology unit, she could be found relaxing at the beach or working on her patio garden. She loved spending time with her family, especially her sisters Julia & Erin, and her brother when he was ashore.

MaryKathryn is survived by her father Thomas Getz & wife Kim, mother Paula Eddens & step father Cal Eddens, brother Marshall “Curt” Getz, sisters Julia Eddens & Erin Eddens, nephew Ethan Parker, along with many cousins, aunts and uncles.

    Jessica Forsythe says:
MaryKathryn was one of the funniest people I've ever met with the sweetest smile. She was a "cool kid" and I was a "dork" but she was always kind to me and made me laugh. She will truly be missed.
