After graduation from Oxford High School, Adelll married Wilson Thomas Eakes. They were active members of Third Presbyterian Church near their home in Charlotte. Adell loved the activities of the church’s Circle One, regular games of bridge, gardening, reading mysteries, poetry and cooking. She was a lady who focused on making a wonderful home for her family of two sons and one daughter and pets.

A few years after her husband’s death, Adell lived a short time at Wilora Lake Village in Charlotte and then moved to be closer to family at Brunswick Cove Living Center near Wilmington.
