    John Blevins says:
I am so sad to hear of Andy’s death. I didn’t know Andy that well but what I knew of him made him someone important to me- he made his husband happy and added immensely to Jeff’s life even as Jeff added to Andy’s. Because Jeff is a long time college friend, Andy became a friend as well. On the occasions I met Andy and got to know him over time, I was struck by his passion for friends and good meals and travel and airplanes and days on the water and political debates- struck, in short, by his passion for life. I also learned that Andy had little time or patience for foolishness, bigotry, or idiocy. Both ways of living are vehicles for Grace in this world. Godspeed to you Andy as you enter a blessed rest. And Jeff, may you be surrounded with love in the midst of this deep, deep loss.

Andy always wore his smile true, no matter what he was fighting through. He was a deeply caring person who went out of his way to be there for others. He helped me immensely and I have learned so much from Andy. He was the best boss I ever had, and he was also a great friend. His spirit lives on within all of those he has inspired and touched in his beautiful life.
