On February 2, 2022, another angel went home to heaven to join family and friends who left before her; in the early morning at 6:12 which was both the day her husband was born, and her father passed. Ann was born in Queens, New York, the oldest of three children. She would spend a total of 68 years with the man she met while working at Gertz Department Store in Jamaica, Queens and was happily married to for 64 years.
Together they raised two daughters on Long Island where she was intertwined in the daily lives of her two oldest grandchildren, before moving to South Florida to do the same with her three youngest grandchildren. Her final destination was North Carolina, where both daughters ultimately and coincidentally made their residence.
Throughout her life, she thoroughly enjoyed cooking authentic cuisine, and being a homemaker, her true calling in life. Though she could not carry a tune and was told to lip sync at church choir, this remarkable lady could name every lyric and sing every melody of a song.
Always a lady with impeccable taste for coordinated clothing, styled hair, and makeup whether running an errand, or spending time at home. Many enjoyable times were spent traveling alone with her husband, their friends, or family to include trips to the Caribbean, Canada, and Israel; as well as domestically from coast to coast.
Whether traveling, or shopping, Ann was a conversationalist at heart with a listening ear to those she knew, and those she didn’t; her slapstick sense of humor put smiles on the faces of many during her life. Though technologically compromised, her housekeeping and accounting skills far surpassed any of those challenges!
In life she bore many titles to include daughter, grand-daughter, sister, wife, daughter in law, mother, aunt, mother in law, grandma, and ultimately great-grandma. Rather petite in size, this woman had more determination, strength, and courage packed inside her tiny little frame and made it known until taking her final breath with her family at her side. She will be sorely missed, as she is missed already; until we are once again reunited with our little Toora-Loora-Loora.
