Betty Jane Swedensky

Memorial Gifts & Donations

After 9 long years of separation, Betty Jane Swedensky has finally joined her beloved husband Tom in eternal peace. Betty passed peacefully in her bed on Monday August 23 rd , just weeks after turning 87 years old.

Betty Jane Rogers was the last child and daughter to George and Hattie Rogers of Loveland, CO. It was there that she grew up with the love of her life, Tommy Dale Swedensky, as they were essentially neighbors in the small community. After returning home from basic training in the Navy and before heading off to the Korean War, Tom walked into a small, local café on evening where Betty worked as a waitress. As it was quite late in the evening, Tom asked to take Betty to breakfast the following morning, and before long the two were inseparable for the duration of their 58 year marriage.

Betty is survived by her two sons, Donald Swedensky and Kevin Richardson (husband: Earl Nissen), granddaughter Katie Dellinger, grandson James Swedensky (wife: Emily Swedensky), great-grandson
Alexander Ryan and great-granddaughter Ansley Charlotte. She joins not only her husband Tom in Heaven, but both her mother and father, all 10 older siblings, and her daughter-in-law Kim Swedensky.

Betty was a talented artist, aspiring singer/song writer, and loved to dance. She was an amazing storyteller and loved to chat all day long with her friends. Her family will miss her jokes, her never-ending surprises, and her laughter, but find comfort in knowing that she is finally at peace after reuniting with Tom.

Remember Me
To the living, I am gone.
To the sorrowful, I will never return.
To the angry, I was cheated but to the happy,
I am at peace and to the faithful, I have never left.
I cannot speak, but I can listen.
I cannot be seen, but I can be heard.

So as you stand upon the shore gazing at the beautiful sea, remember me.
As you look in awe at a mighty forest and its grand majesty, remember me.
Remember me in your hearts, in your thoughts, and the memories of the times we loved.
In the times we cried, the battle I fought, and the times we laughed.

For if you always think of me,
I will never be gone.
