Doris Irene LeBlanc

December 9, 1937 - August 23, 2021

Doris Irene LeBlanc, age 83 of Wilmington NC, passed away at Trinity Grove on August 23, 2021.

Doris was born on December 9, 1937 to Hilaire Mallet and Rose Marie Mallet in Nova Scotia, Canada.

Doris moved to New York from Canada in 1955 with her late husband, Valmon LeBlanc, where they raised their 9 children. Bringing them up in the Catholic faith was very important to her and the family was an integral part of Saint Ann’s Parish in Ossining, NY. Doris enjoyed volunteering at the church and being a Women’s Auxillary member of the American French Club in Sleepy Hollow, NY. Doris worked at Sleepy Hollow Country Club and then Reader’s Digest prior to retiring to Wilmington, NC in 2000. While in Wilmington, Doris joined Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, serving on many committees and being of service to others. She loved her church family and friends and spending time with them.

Doris had a lifelong love for all genres of music, but country was her favorite. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, game nights with family and friends, and playing with her grandkids. It was evident to all, through her kind and generous spirit, that she lived by her faith. Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all who knew her.

Doris is survived by her mother Rose Marie Robichaud, her sons Donald LeBlanc (Linda), Val LeBlanc (Melissa), Roger LeBlanc (Maritza), Joseph “Joey” LeBlanc (Heather), and Kevin LeBlanc (Amanda), her daughters Linda Murray (Joe), Susan Sciarrino (Joe), Marie Guarino (Chris), and Michele Marona (Rob), 23 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. Doris is predeceased by her father Hilaire Mallet and her sister Yvonne Madsen.

There will be a Memorial Mass at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Wilmington, NC on September 30th, 2021 at 9:00AM, as well as a Funeral Mass on September 13, 2021 at 11:00am at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Ossining, NY, with a burial immediately following in St. Augustine’s Cemetery.

What our families say...

“Michael Gubista and Jane Crowder did an excellent job taking care of my family and my precious husband. They were very compassionate and understanding. They treated my children and myself as if we were family. I could not have asked for better service.” – Pepper R.
