Elaine Carol Thompson 76, of Wilmington died Sunday, May 2, 2010 at Autumn Care of Myrtle Grove after a brief illness.

She is survived by her older brother Raymond and wife Jan Thompson, and her sister Joyce Ryan, as well as her nieces and nephews, all from Florida.

She was born in Potters Field, New York, October 31, 1933, where she grew up and later entered the air force. She then worked for Fisher Price/Mattel until she retired and moved to North Carolina in the mid 80’s, where she fished every chance she got and enjoyed life to the fullest. She will be dearly missed.

A memorial has not yet been scheduled, and condolences can be sent to the family at P.O. Box 653, Wilmington, NC 28401. The family would also like to thank all of the staff at Autumn Care for all their love and support.

    I only know Elaine for a few months, but in that short time I could tell she was a good person. she lived her life to the fullest and I bet she was the type of person that would give you the shirt off her back.
