Memorial Gifts & Donations

Evangeline Presler Reynolds, born December 23, 1925, passed away quietly April 29, 2009 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice LifeCareCenter.

She leaves her son Ted, and her grandson Derek. She was the only girl in 5 kids. All 4 brothers have predeceased her. There was a private family graveside service at Gum Springs Baptist Church in Anson County on Saturday, May 2, 2009.

In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family asks that you send any donations in her name to Lower Cape Fear Hospice. Those people could not have been any more dedicated to seeing Mom was as comfortable as possible to the end.

Her career with Southern Bell began in 1941 and ran until 1981, retiring with 39 years 7 months. She moved to Wilmington, NC in 1961 due to technological displacement from Hamlet, NC. Mom leaves many, many friends and business associates from her positions as Cordboard Operator, Operator Supervisor in Hamlet, and as Service Assistant in Wilmington with Southern Bell. She worked with many local business clients during her career as a PBX console/switchboard operator trainer until that position closed in 1981.

She will be missed by all that knew her and benefited from her giving and kindness during her lifetime.
