Evelyn Moore Stokley, age 75, passed away Sunday, November 11, 2018 at Arbor Landing at Ocean Isle.

She was born in Norfolk, VA on June 12, 1943 to Abel Edward Moore Sr. and Susan Elizabeth Temple. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 43 years, John Henry Stokley Sr. Also, by her son-in-law, Michael Skipper.

Evelyn was a professional Certified Nursing Assistant and was an excellent caregiver to her many patients over the years even when she herself needed assistance. A special Thank-You to her caregivers for their loving attention and concerns during her illness.

Evelyn is survived by her children, John Edward Stokley and wife Kristi; Susan “Lynne” Skipper, John Henry Stokley, Jr. and wife Debbie; Christinia Smith and husband Adam; and many other grandchildren, great grandchildren, brothers, sister, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm on Wednesday, November 14, 2018, at Prosper Baptist Church, Delco, NC. The family will receive friends one hour prior. Burial will follow at Prosper Baptist Church Cemetery beside her husband.

    Evelyn stokley was my mother she was a pistol see had a good heart and open her doors for many people that were on hard times.she ask for one thing you make a mass you clean it up.Mom was the cleanest person l have ever seen she would be there at for any one at any given time.She work day and night for ens meat.MOM open your door when it is my turn.loovvee you and I will keep your memorys in my Hart.

    She was my Aunt Evelyn I have so many memories with her and seeing her. I will miss her so much many of the family will miss her but she knows she was loved by us all. It hurts to know she is gone but I know I will always love her and cherish every memories I have with her. Rest In Peace ain’t Evelyn
