Glenda Mitchell Burke age 76 of Holden Beach, NC passed away on Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

Glenda was born in Indianapolis, IN on June 1, 1943 to the late William Mitchell and Rita Goffinet Mitchell. She was preceded in death by her husband Maurice “Butch” Burke and sister Joyce Eppen.

She graduated from St. Agnes in Indianapolis and attended UNC-Wilmington. She has a 2nd home at High Rock Lake in Lexington, NC and has previously resided in Wilmington NC, and Greensboro NC. She attended Boones Neck Baptist Church at Holden Beach and was a retired Real Estate Agent.

Glenda loved her family, friends and her many wonderful neighbors. She truly never met a stranger. She had many interests throughout her life including gardening, knitting, playing cards, tennis, boating, fishing, water & snowsking and riding her jet ski. She loved to travel, and was a voracious reader. She was loved by all and will be dearly missed.

Glenda is survived by her daughter, Theresa Helm Eason and husband Don Eason; son, Robert Helm, Jr; three grandchildren, Hannah Eason, Ryan Helm, and Samuel Eason; sister Jacqueline Myers.

The service planned for Saturday, September 7, 2019 at Boone’s Neck Baptist Church as been cancelled due to the hurricane.

Please join the family 2 pm Saturday September 14, 2019 at Calvary Church, 1665 Pleasant Ridge Rd Greensboro NC 27409.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Arthritis Foundation or The Ocean Conservancy.
