Harold Pope Lashley, 86, of Wilmington, NC died December 8, 2020 at NHRMC.

Harold was born May 5, 1934 in Lumberton NC to the late Alec “Doc” Lashley and Bessie Cope Lashley.

He was predeceased by his wife, Marie Parker Lashley, his sister Virginia “Ginger” Walker, his brother Alex, and grandson Scott Zarate.

He was a veteran of the United States Army.

Harold retired from the Singer Corporation after 25 years of service.

Surviving him are his brother-in-law Earl Walker and his children Karen Parish (Mike) and their children, Kristin Chemnitz (Mike) and their children; son Samuel Malpass (Pat), daughter Ellene Zarate; granddaughter, Sheralyn (Bobby), Harold helped raise her; she was the light of his life, granddaughter Sarah Konig (Bryan) , granddaughter Kim Zarate; grandsons: Mike and Mark Zarate; great grandchildren: Jessica Pospiech (Jeff), Jordan Bennett, Bryana Konig, Trey Hodges, Mia and Cameron Zarate; great-great granddaughter Anna Pospiech.

Also surviving: J.B. Baker, a very special friend who was always there for Marie and Harold for over 40 years. Thank you, J.B. Also, Joanne Bryant who was a special friend. Thanks for all the visits and snacks.

A very special thank you to Pat Malpass for all her love and care. She was a great help in so many ways. Thanks to Sammy Malpass also for all his help down through the years.

A visitation will be Friday, Decemeber 18, 2020 at 1:00 PM with funeral at 2:00 PM at Wilmington Funeral Chapel. Burial will be immediately following at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Wilmington, NC.

Pall bearers are: Bobby Bennett, Bryan Konig, Trey Hodges, Jeff Pospiech, Brian Parish and Danny Malpass.
