Jacqueline Margaret Regan

January 30, 1951 - September 2, 2019

On Monday, September 2, 2019, Jacqueline “Jackie” Regan, loving mother of five children and nine grandchildren, passed away surrounded by her loved ones. Jackie was born on January 30, 1951 in Newark, NJ, to John and Johanna “Joan” (Rinderer) Regan.

Growing up in Hopatcong, NJ, she graduated from Sparta High School. After her marriage, she moved to Orange, CA, and later to Riyadh and Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. She returned to the US and settled in Wilmington, NC, near her parents.

Jackie worked in customer service. After retiring, she moved to Hadden Hall, where she became an integral part of the community. She was well-known there for her friendliness, and for always helping her neighbors. Jackie was a voracious reader, and the queen of crossword puzzles. She loved the squirrels and birds, and they greeted her each day to get the nuts and other treats she always brought for them. Jackie always had a funny story to tell about the antics of her furry and feathered little friends.

Jackie is preceded in death by her parents, John and Joan. She is survived by Jonathan (son) and his wife Abby; Eric (son) and Brantley (grandson); Nicole (daughter), her husband Shane, and Brad, Michael, and Johnny (grandsons); Danielle (daughter), her husband Chet, and Aedan, Kieryn, and James (grandsons); and Michelle (daughter), her husband Blago, and Theodore and Nicholas (grandsons).

A celebration of life is planned for Saturday, September 14, 2019 at 1325 Spring Valley Road, Wilmington, NC 28405. Friends of Jackie may stop by anytime between 2 and 4 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Coastal Carolina Wildlife Rehab in Jackie’s name (PayPal donations to [email protected], or by mail to Coastal Carolina Wildlife Rehab, Jackie Regan, c/o Jennifer Leonard, 144 Northbrook Drive, Wilmington, NC 28405-8473).

What our families say...

“Michael Gubista and Jane Crowder did an excellent job taking care of my family and my precious husband. They were very compassionate and understanding. They treated my children and myself as if we were family. I could not have asked for better service.” – Pepper R.
