Julia Ann Saunders, age 78 of Wilmington passed away on Thursday, October 8, 2020.

She was born on August 16, 1942, in Southport, NC the daughter of the late Dan Paul Watson and Bertha Beck Watson. She was the widow of Gordon W. Saunders and preceded in death by a son, Gordon Wayne Saunders, Jr.

Judy is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Timothy and Crystal “Cookie” Saunders; two daughters, Linda Leadman and Joseph of Winnabow, and Kim Burns and David of Riegelwood; son, Charles Elliot Saunders. Six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lillian Fields Malpass and Janice Iris Watson, and other extended family members.

Visitation will be 3 to 5 Sunday, October 11, 2020, at Wilmington Funeral Chapel.

Funeral services will be 11 Monday, October 12, 2020, at Wilmington Funeral Chapel led by Rev. Robert Willetts and Rev. Jimmy Mintz. Burial will be at Northwood Cemetery in Southport. Her pallbearers will be Emmett Watson, Jr., Eric Watson, Trey Watson, Christopher Burns, Mike Wagner, and David Burns.
