Julie Ann Milana, 55, of Fayetteville, NC sadly passed away on November 4, 2021. She had been courageously fighting cancer and passed away at home, surrounded by loved ones. Julie was a real estate agent with Fathom Realty. She grew up in Fayetteville, NC and graduated from South View High School. Julie also spent many years living in San Diego, CA.
Julie was a woman of great faith, love, and selflessness. She devoted much of her life to her family, friends, and clients – she cared for her husband, children, grandbaby, parents, siblings, nieces, cousins, friends, clients, coworkers, and truly anyone she came across, with a warm heart and bright smile. She loved to make people feel comfortable and valued, and she united her extended family with big, all-inclusive gatherings. Julie listened with a sharp ear and mind, always with a bit of wisdom to offer when needed. She found joy in day-to-day pleasures, from talking with her best friends to enjoying a glass of wine at the end of the day. Julie performed innumerable small acts of kindness, surprising her dad with his favorite dessert, banana pudding, saving toys to give to clients’ children, and buying girl scout cookies from every member of the troop. She was the patient caretaker of her beloved dog and three high-maintenance cats, even when they drove her crazy. Julie lit up when she was with people and spoke of how energized she felt after spending time with clients. She had an amazing sense of humor and her laugh was contagious. She was tough, yet vulnerable, and honest, yet kind. Julie simply loved life and the people in it.
Julie is survived by her husband, Tom Milana; children, Josh Milana (Brooklynn) and Amanda Martinez (Leo); grandson, Leonardo Martinez; mother, Joyce Pate; siblings, Carol Pate Bellanger, Susan Pate, and David Pate (Jann); sister-in-law, Melanie Blakeley; nieces, Jodi Blakeley, Jamie Blakeley, Morgan Bellanger, and Miranda Bellanger; and best friends, Tina Wilson (Ricky) and Julia Adkins (Rodney). Julie was preceded in death by her father, Angus Pate, and brother-in-law, Houston Blakeley.
