Kay Romans Albrecht, age 69, of Wilmington, North Carolina, formerly of Grand Haven, Michigan, passed away on August 29, 2009.
Kay was born on July 7, 1940 in Fremont, Michigan, and was preceded in death by her mother, Josephine Sweezey, and her nephew, Travis Lind.
Surviving are her husband of 30 years, Edward J. Albrecht Sr. of Wilmington, North Carolina, sons Rick (Penny) Romans of Marne, Michigan, Eddie (Denise), Dale and Todd Albrecht of Wilmington, North Carolina, grandchildren Ryan Romans, Spc. Kyle (Kristina) Romans, Midn1 Alex, Midn3 Adam, Eddie and Jordan Albrecht, brother Richard (Tammy) Sweezey, sisters Ruthanne (Cecil) Remington and Judi (Tom) Garvey, extended family Pablo Portillo and Adam Williams and many loved nieces and nephews.
She worked as an OB nurse at Grand Haven Hospital and General Hospital in Muskegon for several years. She and her husband were blueberry growers in West Olive, Michigan and Pender Co. North Carolina for many years. She was a very loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend, who will be deeply missed.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, September 8 at 11am at St. Mark Catholic Church at 1013 Eastwood Road.
Donations can be made to the American Heart Association in lieu of flowers.
