Kaylah you will be missed so much. I just loved your smile and the way you made everyone feel so comfortable. You were so smart. I loved our intellectual conversations. I felt smarter just being next to you. We love you and can’t wait to see you again.

Kaylah was one of the brightest students I had at Wilmington Early College High School. She was not just a great scholar, she had the most creative soul and beautiful heart. Kaylah was not only the valedictorian for her graduating class at WECHS but she also earned the Spanish Award from me for her class. She was talented in so many ways! Kaylah was so well-liked by everyone. She was funny, kind, witty, and just plain good energy to be around. I last saw Kaylah in 2019 on the UNCW campus. I was no longer teaching at WECHS and she was in her last year as a nursing student at UNCW. She gave me the biggest hug and smile and updated me on her exciting life plans. I told her I was so proud of her and so happy to have bumped into her. I wish I could have told her that more recently! Kaylah, I will be forever honored my life crossed with yours even if for a brief while. You are so loved and never forgotten. Wishing her family so much healing and peace.
