Memorial Gifts & Donations

Keith W. (Augie), Augustyniak, age 65, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, February 4, 2022, at his home in Wilmington, North Carolina.

Keith was formerly from Southwest Michigan. He was proceeded in death by his parents Joseph and Arlene and brother Bruce.

He acquired a love for golf at a young age, caddying and working at local golf courses and tournaments. He attended Michigan State University on an Evans Scholarship where he studied business management. From there, he moved to warmer climates to pursue his passion for golf and even traveled to Europe to assist in golf course design.

In 2000 his golf expertise brought Keith to North Carolina to join a couple of his associates with a project in Brunswick County at the newly developed Winding River Golf Course.

In Southport one night he met Connie Ledgett who became his partner for the rest of his life. Later on, He joined with her in her newly started business Isabella Grape ladies Boutique and together they watched it grow. They relocated the company to Wilmington in 2005 playing a role in the NC Azalea Festival, Miss America Pageant Miss NC and Miss Virginia Pageants. Keith and Connie supported several local girls toward their fashion modeling ambitions. He also managed to assist Connie with Merchandise development and marketing. They dressed 4 Miss NC, 1 Miss VA and 1 Miss DC for their Miss America experience.

We always return our roots so when Connie wanted to retire in 2017, Keith returned to golf course, first in the mountains of NC, second in Central NC and last two years in the Lexington Ky area. He had recently returned home to rest and prepare for his next project

He is survived by his love of 21 years Connie, sister Kay (Brian), nephews Roderick and Joseph, and sister-in-law Diane.

A private remembrance will take place at a later date.

In honor of his love for cats , please consider a donation to your local humane society or animal rescue.

I am the former wife of 15 years of Keith. I was shocked to hear of his passing. May he rest in peace and find a good golfing place in Heaven.

    Scott Wilson says:
Augie was one of my Evans Scholars roommates. He always had a big personality and a big heart. Augie was full of stories that he would generally embellish to make them pretty funny. He was a treasured friend who I will miss greatly.

    Kevin Kirkpatrick says:
The world is a sadder place without Augie in it. I was in the Evans Scholars at the same time and he was definitely one of a kind. Augie could be outrageously funny and kind at the same time.I hope he's on a golf course somewhere right now.. kk

As the baby of our family and the only girl, I always looked up to Keith when I was young. I wish we could’ve stayed close and been connected these last several years. Give mom, dad and brother Bruce a hug and my love. I miss you all♥️
