Michael J. “Mike” Core, 40, of Wilmington died Saturday February 7, 2009 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

Mike was born in Wilmington August 27, 1968 the son of the late Raymond Daniel Core and Thelma Kay Williams Core who resides in Wilmington.

Also surviving are his wife Crystal Core, beloved K9 Sparky, sisters Sarah Winkler and partner George Kornegay of Holly Ridge, Susan Gordon and husband Leslie of St. Mary’s, KS. ,brothers Robert Core of St. Mary’s, KS, RD Core III and wife Kathleen of Iowa, a number of nieces and nephews including Shawn and Shannon Winkler.

A celebration of life service will be held 2:00 P.M Wednesday February 11, 2009 at Epworth United Methodist Church with Reverend Randy Wagner officiating.

The family will be at his home to see friends at all times.
