Reuben Kendall, 72, died February 27, 2018. He was born in Charlotte, N.C., the son of Benjamin Reuben and Connie Seymore Kendall.

He was a World War ll veteran, and a member of the American Legion and VFW. He worked as an electrician after the military and founded Kendall Electric. He went on to be an electrical inspector for Mecklenburg County and the city of Charlotte. He was a member of numerous Electrical Associations.

Reuben was a founding member of the Saint Andrews Episcopal Church of Mount Holly. After moving to Holly Ridge, he and Elly became members of Saint Phillips Episcopal Church in Holly Ridge. He spent many hours as a Meals on Wheels volunteer at the Hampstead Senior Center.

Reuben was preceeded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Elly, his brothers, Alonzo, Benjamin Reuben Jr., and Jimmy Kendall, and sisters Thelma Medlin, and Elizabeth Gibson.

He is survived by his son, Peter Reuben and wife Inis, grandson Reuben Eugene and wife Cindy, great grandson, Reuben Kyle, and very special friend Kathy Scott.

A celebration of life will be held at Saint Phillips Episcopal Church  of Holly Ridge at 11:00 a.m. On Saturday, March 10, 2018.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that all memorials can be made to Saint Phillips Episcopal Church, P.O. Box 155, Holly Ridge, N.C., 28445.
