Roy Maylon Stokes, 77 of Topsail Beach, NC died Saturday November 17, 2007 at Cape Fear Memorial Hospital.

He was born September 14, 1930 in Pitt County, NC the son of the late Joseph Roy Stokes and Bessie Viola Bullock Stokes. He was a retired electrician. Roy received an Honorable Discharge from the United States Air Force.

He is predeceased by brothers Harold Stokes and Frank Stokes.

Surviving are son and daughter-in-law Scott and Jana Stokes of Huntersville, NC; daughter Vickie Lynn Stokes of Ft. Lauderdale, FL.; brothers William Stokes of Summerville, SC; and James (Jay Bird) Stokes of Kinston, NC; sister Betty Lou Watson, of Winterville, NC; grandson Coleson Scott Stokes of Huntersville, NC; and granddaughters Brittany and Taylor Persaud of Ft. Lauderdale, FL.

At his request no public service will be held.

Memorials may be directed to Ovarian Cancer research.
