Stephen Foster Mintz Jr., age 42, of Wilmington, NC, died Wednesday January 20, 2010, at his home.

Stephen was born in Fayetteville, NC, on October 27, 1967, and was the son of Stephen Foster Mintz and Elaine Stewart Mintz.

He is survived by his children Cassidy Lynn Mintz and Dylan Foster Mintz; his mother, Elaine Stewart Mintz; his father, Stephen Foster Mintz and his sister, Caroline Mintz Jackson.

Stephen graduated from John T. Hoggard High School in 1986. He attended Louisburg College and UNCW before pursuing a career in building and construction.

Stephen was a lover of all things in nature, the out-of-doors and anything related to wildlife. Anyone who knew Stephen, knew he could be found in the woods, in a boat or in a duckblind. He shared his love of nature and adventure with his children and friends. He was a devoted father and spent quality time with Cassidy and Dylan. He will be missed by all of his family and friends.

The Services for Stephen will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2010, at Myrtle Grove Presbyterian Church at 2:00 PM. Friends are invited to visit with the family after the services in the vestibule of the church or visit the home at 4417 Windtree Road, Wilmington, NC.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be sent to: Christian Believers United Youth Camp Scholarship Fund, PO Box 62, Black Mountain, NC 28711 or Aurora Fossil Museum, 400 Main Street, PO Box 352, Aurora, NC 27806-0352.
