Sylvia Annette Thompson, age 79 of Wilmington died Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at the Lower Cape Fear LifeCare Center.
She was born on March 2, 1942 in Wilmington, NC the daughter of Roy and Pauline Turner.
Sylvia attended New Hanover High School, then Troutmans Beauty School. She was a professional hair dresser for many years in the Wilmington area. She was part owner of Thompson’s Restaurant and worked on site for many years in Wilmington. Sylvia attended College Acres Baptist Church in Wilmington and was very active in many of the church ministries. Sylvia was a special person, always giving to others.
Surviving are her husband of 51 years, Victor Aaron Thompson, son John Anthony Miller, and son Roy Shane Thompson; stepson Michael Aaron Thompson, and step daughter Connie Thompson and special friend Becky Casteen; grandchildren, Kaitlyn Thompson, Emory Miller, Maggie Miller, John Miller, and Gabby Miller; great grandchildren Serenity Thompson, Brian Thompson and Jennifer Miller; and her very special puppy “Scooter”.
A Memorial Celebration of Life service will be 11 am Friday, April 30, 2021 at the graveside in Oleander Memorial Gardens led by Certified Life Celebrant Linda Register.
