Mr.William Dave Hewett 67 of Castle Hayne passed away on Wednesday September 15, 2021 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

Dave was born on November 2, 1953 in Wilson, NC to Lester Lee Hewett Sr. and Katherine Britt Hewett both of whom preceded him in death.

Dave is survived by his loving family wife Teresa Chandler Hewett; sons: Larry Clayton “Jamie” Hewett, William Anthony “Tony” Hewett: daughter: Bonnie Suzanne Hewett King, and husband Brian Lemont King: children Jonny Pete Rayburn, Stacy Rayburn Peters; he loved his grandchildren very much, they were definitely his heart; Jaymee Kae Hewett, Clayton A. Hewett, Lauren M. Murphy, Koby I Hewett, Chelsea A. Hansley, Charlie M. Darden, Avery O. Hewett, Aaron C. Rayburn, Mason R. Peters; brother: Lester Lee Hewett, Jr. and wife Nancy Hewett; sisters: Christine Justice and Shannon Clemmons; nephews: Billy Arp, David Bryan, Michael Bart Clemmons, Daniel Hewett and Alex Hewett; great nephews David Bryan Jr. and Tyler Clemmons.

Pitt and Marie Merritt were his close extended family. Pitt had a huge part in helping him become the hard working man he was. As a young boy he worked at Pitts store and then the bakery. He was a sheet metal mechanic for Daniels Const. at DuPont. Then later on going into business for himself and starting Castle Hayne Heating and Air doing what he truly enjoyed. He was dedicated to his job and doing it right. Even after retirement still helping others, always lending a hand and still servicing longtime customers.

Dave’s Favorite relaxation was golfing and spending time with family making memories. He will surely be missed and remembered by many.

Service will be held at Pentecostals of Wilmington 3615 Chippenham Drive Wilmington NC 28412 on September 28, 2021 Visitation from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM & Service from 12:00PM until 1:00 PM with Pastor Floyd Morris officiating. Due to Covid social distancing and mask will be required
