Condolences for John Anderson

Wanda and family, you are in my prayers. When I think about John, I have a big smile on my face and love in my heart. I was a new hire at NCDOT in 1998 and John was like strict parent trying to prepare me for the road ahead. And that he did because John knew the manual well enough to have written it himself! I'm pretty sure he retired 5 years later to get a little peace and quiet with his cats because he'd tell me I talked his ear off at work and Wanda talked the other one off at home. We got the work done but had a lot of laughs along the way. I appreciate all that John did for me and I'm better agent because of it. Miss you John!

Wanda and family, we have many happy memories of John as a single man who found the love of his life in our small town. SI thankful he placed his faith in Christ and is now more alive than ever! May you find comfort and peace as the days go by. Love, Frankie and George Wolf

Wanda and family I remember working in Wilmington with John. We had good times at work and afterwards when we played tennis. He was much faster than I thought. I remember when we were both Div Agent and I would call him on Saturdays when we were both working. We tried to solve all the problems but mostly we just vented. I am glad he became a Christian. I am truly sorry for your loss.

I had the privilege of working with John from 1989 to 2003 in the Wilmington R/W Office. I remember when being assigned temporary duty in Wilmington, my boss at the time, Cecil McLamb gave me the advise to "listen to John Anderson, because he knows right of way as well as anyone I know", and I found that to be true. John was hard worker and excellent negotiator. When John was promoted to Division Agent and I became his senior agent, we spent many Saturdays together at the office trying to keep things running smoothly. Although John was tough on the outside, he really did was compassionate. I remember one time he gave me his bonus check of several hundred dollars; it was a big deal to me at the time because I had a young family and I was the sole income. I appreciate John calling me not long ago to express his faith in Christ and I am looking forward to seeing him again in heaven, free of all health issues. My life was richer because of John Anderson and I will miss him.

Wanda and family ; I'm so sad to hear of John's passing . Being in the West , I didn't have many opportunities to be around John but I always enjoyed it when we talked at meetings , etc. When we held the R/W golf tournament here in Asheville , John was so complimentary to our office that it really was greatly appreciated by us all . My thoughts and prayers go out to you and the family during this sad time .

My condolences to the family. I had the privilege of working with John at the Wilmington Right if Way office. He was a great supervisor and he helped me to become a better Right of Way Agent. I also had the great opportunity to play golf with him while working in Wilmington.
