Jack was a great coach, friend, and mentor. Although I am deeply saddened by his passing I can't help but smile when thinking about all the great memories he was apart of both on and off the rugby field. My condolences to Yolanda and the girls.

Moments with Jack were never good...rather, they were grand. Flytrap Downs, fishing piers, and favorite haunts will continue to tell Jack stories. He is truly a blessing in all our lives. Thank you Jack for helping us all. Coach, friend, and brother. John Metzger UNCW Rugby 93-97 Cape Fear Rugby 98---

I was deeply saddened to hear of Jack's passing. My sincere thoughts and prayers are with Yo and the girls, and all of Jack's dear family and friends. I'm struggling to remember exactly where I first met Jack. He was just one of those friends that seemed to have been three forever, and he was there for you , and you knew it. I learned early on with Jack that if he did not agree with your views, he would let you know really quick, but he appreciated others opinions even if they were wrong!! Too many good memories to share here, but one that sticks out the most was years ago when we played golf at Myrtle Beach in the summer and the Fall. Jack quit playing on the Fall trips. When i asked him why he quit he said I can't go spend money on myself so close to Christmas, and still tell my girls that I can't afford their Christmas wishes. That was Jack.

Jack was a uplifter and welcomed me to my first Cape Fear Rugby practice in the Fall of 1983. He took me under his wing in acceptance of my 18 years old naiviety of the game and life. He always was giving his knowledge and encouragement to me and for that I am forever grateful! Truly a "man at the gates"...till we score tries again my man! Middy

Yolanda, Sara, Leslie, and Jessica, there are truly no words to express how sad we are for the loss of Jack, a wonderful husband and father. He was such a great brother-in-law, always thoughtful and so funny! Dwight enjoyed all the times they played golf together, especially when Dad was living and played with them too. He loved you all fiercely and was so proud of you. We will miss him terribly but will always remember his smiling face. We love you all so much and we are here for you anytime you need us! Dwight and Rhonda

Jack & Romano were such cute youngsters with beautiful red curly hair. I was 10 yrs older than Jack. When they came to visit our mutual grandmother, the three of us would explore the farm & climb on the tractor.

Jack I will always remember fondly the great times with you as teammate on the Campbell wrestling team. And will never forget that it was you and Yolanda that took this Yankee on his first trip to New York and visited the top of the World Trade Center together. Of course your witty humor keeping me laughing through it all! May God keep your soul and continue to watch over Yolanda and your family. Love you Jack!

Jack will be dearly missed. He was a great coach, a naturally talented mentor, and one hell of a friend. He brightened every visit a Rugger or Wrestler ever was fortunate enough to enjoy with him. I am lucky to have called him my Friend.
