Although my time in Fair Bluff in the mid-90's was brief, Pastor Gwinn made a lasting impact in my life. He was there for me during a difficult time in my life and showed the love of Christ in words and actions. My heartfelt condolences to Jill, Rachel, and Josh. May God comfort and strengthen you.

Jill and family- we loved Marvin- he was such a joy to be around. You were always gonna laugh and hear about Gods goodness when with him or talking by phone. Jennifer’s family has such great memories of being with you and Marvin in the early years of your ministry in Rocky Mount. You Both were a real blessing to their family. Marvin leaves a great legacy and taught His church to believe and trust God- in good times and trying times. We are praying for all of you and your church family!

I am so very sad at the loss of this wonderful pastor and man of God. When my parents would be in the hospital, he not only visited and prayed with them, he would sit with me in the waiting room comforting me. He visited at their home praying and comforting all of us. Without a doubt he really cared for everyone. As much as we will miss him, angels are singing and rejoicing as he enters Heaven . Thank you my Heavenly Father for blessing us with such a wonderful man of God as Pastor Gwinn .

I am so shocked and saddened at the passing of Brother Marvin. We served on a COG Boys Ministry Committee in the 90s. He and I were liked minded conservatives. Sister Jill and family, my heart is saddened for you. My prayers are with you for God's comfort during this time.

I never met the Good Rev but I know his son Joshua as the old saying goes the Apple does not fall far from the Tree so I know the Rev was one heck of a Man God Bless the Family

Elaina and Michael Tartt posted on 6/26/20

I am so saddened by our former pastor's passing. Pastor Gwinn preached a sermon that led my husband, Michael Tartt, and me to the altar. We were saved and have served the Lord since that day. My children began their foundation of learning about Jesus under his ministry, and my children still have a strong relationship with the Lord today. Pastor Gwinn was with our family through many tough times. He dearly loved my mother and father in law and Mike's grandma. We had so many joyous times together. We are praying for the family during this difficult time.

Dennis and I were heartbroken to hear of Marvin's passing. We received a special uplifting and encouraging card from he and Jill just last week. In it ,they had placed an anointed prayer cloth for God's healing power for Dennis. Included was a special passage from the bible that speaks of the miracles that God is capable of. This will always be a special memory for the both of us that we will cherish forever. We pray for strength, peace, and love forJill, Josh, Rachel, and their families.

Marvin Gwinn was a friend to all, but especially to the hurting. He would leave the crowd to find the one who needed a friend. He would not kick you if you were down, rather he would kneel down with you and offer a hand to help you get up. Our hearts are sad for the family and for ourselves, but we celebrate this man of God. Marvin Gwinn was a true Christian.

I only met Pastor Gwinn once. January 6, 2019. My sweet Momma was in the hospital and we weren't sure she would make it. Her pastor couldn't come, but when Rev Marvin heard how scared she was, tho he had traveled all day, he came to the hospital and shared a word and had prayer with her ✝️ He didn't know her, but God led him there as she needed him so badly. I thank God for this faithful servant that listened to his Father speak that night. Praying comfort for the family and church during this time May you find peace in the promise of our Savior that our friend will be waiting for us in Glory ✝️

Pastor Gwinn was such a blessing to our family he dedicated our oldest child almost 30 years ago, renewed our parent's vows, spoke at our mother's and granny's funeral, visited through many sicknesses in our family. He always had such a happy funny loving spirit about him. He will truly be missed by us and all our family. We will meet you in Heaven Pastor Marvin Gwinn. Soon and very soon. Sis. Gwinn you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers. May God comfort you all and wrapped His loving arms around you giving His peace that surpasses all understanding.

So many memories with this family that I couldn't choose just one. Preacher Gwinn welcomed me into their home as another one of his "adopted" children over 20 years ago. He had a love for life, family and the Lord. He would tell me like it was if I needed to be set straight and would show me fatherly love when I couldn't lift myself. So thankful for the time I was able to share with the family from church to adventures and them giving me a life long best friend in Rachel. The cherry on top was that he married my husband and I. Rest in Peace Preacher, we will see you soon.

I met Pastor Gwinn while visiting my mother who was undergoing cancer treatment. She loved him and it showed. When visiting after her passing I still visited the the church and listened to him. He had an effect on me even in California. He was a good man and I hope his family finds comfort in knowing he is in Heaven.
