Beth was such a sweet, kind & generous lady. It was such a pleasure to have her as my cousin-in-law, as I am Gene's first cousin. My thoughts & prayers are with the family. Love, Patsy

My thoughts & prayers

To all the McLeod Family, Please accept my condolences on the loss of your wife and mom. For so many years of my young life she was so gracious to accept me in your home for lunches, over nights, playing James Taylor albums in the basement and fun on the balance beam! Clair and Philip and I were together in school all the way through high school. So many great memories. Your Mom always made me feel welcome and like a part of the family and she was a good friend to my mother as well. Now she and Laura can gab in heaven....they were so good at that here on earth!!! My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Catherine Kilian Lopez

Gene and family, I attended Tuesday noon at First Baptist with Beth and Gene. They were both such special people. I always enjoyed them every time that I saw them. With love and sympathy, Wanda Musselwhite

I did not have the good fortune to know Mrs. McCleod personally, but I certainly enjoyed hearing about her through her wonderful daughter, Clair. She was a remarkable woman. Please accept my sincere condolences and may God bless and comfort your family during this difficult period.

To the entire McLeod Family; thank you! Our family has been blessed by your Folks/Grandparents. We have many cherished memories of time spent with Beth & Gene. It was always pure joy to be in their presence-radiating God’s love and grace. We will miss Beth’s beautiful smile, sweet embrace, and gentle spirit. Big love to Gene as he navigates this new “normal”. The entire Caperton Clan sends you our love and prayers!

Beth hired me as a childcare worker when I attended SEBTS, then nurtured & supported me when I served as Minister of Education & Children for nine years at her beloved church in Wake Forest. She helped shape my life and ministry and will always hold a special place in my heart. Our world is better, richer for having her here these 89+ years. My heart goes out to Gene and her daughters & families. Beth will be sorely missed...until we meet again. God’s peace be with each of you.

So sorry to hear of your Mom's passing, Clair. She sounds like she was quite a woman. Reading about her made me think of you immediately. She passed on great traits you can cherish in her memory.

What a dear woman was Beth and the world is a sadder place with her beautiful soul gone. When I was 17 and experiencing issues at home, dear Beth and Gene opened their home and their hearts to me. For a time, I was privileged to have Beth as my second mother. I learned so much from her - how to lead a satisfying life of kindness, how to have a career, how to be a loving and supportive wife, and how to be the type of mother that set high standards, but provided the love and support to ensure her children had the foundation to succeed. As a mother, I used dear Beth as a model and if I am in any way a good mother, I can thank Beth for her inspiration. My deepest sympathy to dear Gene, Ann, Beth, Claire, and her loving extended family. Thank you Dear Beth for loving a lost teenager many years ago.

As a young new member of her church, I can remember her kindness and the delicious meal at their home. Later we reconnected through her daughter, Clair Peyton. What a beautiful life and a beautiful family.

As one of those new members at Wake Forest Baptist Church, I can attest to her welcome at a meal in her lovely home. Years later we reconnected through her daughter. Clair Peyton. What a beautiful life and a beautiful family.

I will always remember Beth’s wonderful smile. She made you feel like a special friend. She truly lived a Christian life. She certainly lived a wonderful and full life. We will be praying for her clan.
