Michael was a talented artist with a one-of-a-kind personality. His kindness was second only to his willingness to tell things like they were. The world will not be the same, and I feel lucky to have worked beside him.

Michael, you will forever be in my heart and I know your family is heartbroken! You were one of a kind and so much fun! Your dad was my math teacher, one year, I think in middle school! You two shared your good looks and humor! Michael and I worked at TSI together and we became close. We used to walk the loop at the beach almost everyday after work. We could talk about anything and would share some of our deepest secrets! I love you Michael and will see you in a better place! Brenda, you and your family will certainly be in my prayers!❤️

Michael and I have been friends since our college days. Then and now, his love for his family was always just below the surface. I am saddened for your loss, and wish him peace.

I worked with Michael in the Marketing Dept at Vision Software for over 5 years. I haven't spoken to Michael since leaving Vision Software almost 20 years ago now and his name came up in a conversation that I was having with another fellow Vision employee Tim Hesse about a month ago. He was bleoved by anyone who had the pleasure of being around him. My heart goes out to the family.

Mrs. Brenda I am so saddened by this news. I will be praying for you and your dear family during this difficult time. Micheal was my first boyfriend! Sixteen years old and he set the bar high for everyone else! My most favorite memory of him as a young man was the time Micheal invited me to a family Reunion. I got all dressed up in a summer strapless dress with pearls, and high heals. However, Micheal forgot to tell me it was cancelled, and that we were going to the beach instead! I was so mad, but Micheal just smiled, and said that I would be the prettiest girl on the beach.... That’s how I remember Micheal... Kind, warm, funny, and a gentlemen.

Fly free my old friend. Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free I'm following the path God has laid you see. I took His hand when I heard him call I turned my back and left it all. I could not stay another day To laugh, to love, to work, to play. Tasks left undone must stay that way I found that peace at the close of day. If my parting has left a void Then fill it with remembered joy. A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss Oh yes, these things I too will miss. Be not burdened with times of sorrow I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow. My life's been full, I savoured much Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch. Perhaps my time seemed all too brief Don't lengthen it now with undue grief. Lift up your hearts, and peace to thee God wanted me now; He set me free.

I was a classmate of Michael's at both Sunset Park Jr. High and also New Hanover High. Michael was one-of-a-kind, and I will never forget his humor and courage. He was always himself at a time of life and a time in history when that could be not only lonely but dangerous. My favorite memory is of Michael dressed as Boy George dancing to a cheering crowd at a Sunset Park dance. My deepest sympathies to his family and friends.

I will miss our talks, our rants, and all the laughter that we shared. Michael was an amazing friend and always offered his support for anything you needed. He was always willing to listen and help, and of course he brought his wonderful sense of humor to assist as well. I will miss you so very much Michael. My condolences to his family and all who loved this wonderful person. We lost a very special person this week.

Today I lost my best friend. Someone who I talked to everyday. Someone who was always there to share my happy times and sad. It’s hard to imagine they he won’t be there anymore when I want someone to shopping with or grab a bit to eat. Going forward I’m sure there will be times when I have exciting news to share and I’ll grab for my phone to call him only to realize he’s not here anymore. In this life your so lucky to have that one true friend that is there for you and Micheal was that friend to me. No words can describe the hole left in my heart today. I’ll miss buddy.

Rest in Peace Michael, you will be missed. Working with you just a short while I admired your drive to do a good job and always willing to help anyone. You always had a smile and loved your family & friends. I will remember our kidding back and forth about our good taste in trucks and how your truck & my truck were siblings. Prayers for your family over this loss, but know Michael is in a better place.

Michael was my friend and neighbor for the past several years. He was always ready to lend me a helping hand, especially when it involved getting on a ladder. He often went the extra mile and always with a smile. We had many “driveway conversations” about life, work, the neighborhood and politics. I remember being invited for a private showing of his extensive collection of Halloween décor. I will miss him, his wry sense of humor, and his neighborly texts to remind me that I left my garage door open – again! Michael lived a pretty quiet lowkey life, but I think he would be surprised by how many people valued his friendship and presence. Rest in peace, Michael, knowing that you left a lasting impression on this older neighbor.
