Condolences for Katharine Livingston Tanksley

Katharine was a wonderful next-door neighbor. Maria and Jane loved her, and she was always very sweet to them. Jane felt that she gave the best Halloween candy. Mariana admired her wit and elegance. We will miss her a lot and are grateful for the time we knew her.

Kathy was a very good friend of mine. We got to know each other when we both worked at The Old Sautee Store. We had such a good time working together. Sometimes we would take a car ride around the north Georgia area and she would show me places, that she and Jack used to visit. Other times we had lunch or dinner together with our friends from the store. When she moved to Wilmington, I would visit her there once a year. I will miss her a lot!

When we bought the Old Sautee Store, Kathy was working there in Sautee, Georgia. She immediately won our hearts with her classy style and beautiful heart. She was such a special part of our early years there...loyal beyond measure, always upbeat and encouraging. The experience would not have been the same without her. We will always be grateful for her time in our lives. Thank you Kathy. Our prayers are with Jack and Franny and her family. God bless

I was fortunate enough to have met Katherine on a number of occasions and enjoyed playing mahjongg with her and our other friends. Such a sweet lady. I am extending my sincere sympathies to her family and loved ones. I am certain all of you have wonderful memories of shared times and I hope they help you in this time of sorrow.

Katherine and I met at one of the regular meetings of the Wilmington Newcomers Club. Katherine was always elegantly dressed in her classic style. Katherine and I played Mah Jongg and a card game called Hand and Foot, where she ably demonstrated her mental acuity. She was an absolutely delightful woman, who will be greatly missed.
