Thank you Dick for all the memories in the canoe/kayak on the sound. We also have such fond memories of dinner parties when you were in Chicago! We are so lucky to have called you family. We now get to treasure Rose. We love you very much!

My dear friend, my heart is breaking for you. I so wish I could be there to hug you, but a knee replacement two weeks ago has made me home bound for a while. Dick was such a good, kind man and he adored you. His passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew him.

Richard and I attended Marshall at the same time and had good memories from then. We reconnected when he moved to Topsail through attending Marshall game watching and WVA Day here in Wilmington. I extend my condolences to his family. He was a very pleasant and cheerful person and will be missed. Larry Dezio

My cousin Rosie and her dear husband Dick came from humble beginnings yet everywhere they went they left a footprint of friendship, hospitality and betterment. Dick was a quiet soul but he was intelligent, fun, kind and hard working. My heart is broken yet I am so proud of Dick's legacy of excellence. I will truly miss him. May God surround you Rosie with comfort and precious memories. Love Tammy

Dick Peters was a one-of-a-kind man - Kind, soft-spoken, brilliant, and compassionate. He had a way of problem-solving and gaining consensus that was truly remarkable. What an incredible legacy - naming the North Topsail Park after him. Kiwanis as an organization will certainly miss his talents! I will miss his smile.

We’re so sorry to hear about Dick’s passing. We spent several years together in Chicago with the FDIC. Dick and Rose and Lynda and I always enjoyed eating at different Chicago area restaurants. We always had some lively discussions about the FDIC and life in general. Dick, you will be greatly missed!
