One of my fondest memories was sharing a Dewar's Scotch at the Firehouse conference in 1999.

I just learned of Mike's passing a few minutes ago and I am devastated. Mike was like an older brother to me during my time at Seagate and is the one who was instrumental in my getting into emergency services. I'll never forget his dry wit and his extensive wisdom and for all of his friendship and support.. Betty, I feel so sorry for your loss and know it is shared by so many of us.

I was so sorry to hear of Mike's passing. I was out of town and did not know about the service. I know Mike touched many lives in the Wilmington area. I so wish I could have been with you all. Mike, Sherry, and Tracy felt like family to me. Our family will always have a bond our parents made for us. Betty, my thoughts and prayers are for you now. Please know god has this now. Mike (Chiefie) was one of the best people and Brother Firefighters I ever knew. I have known and worked with Mike in different volunteer & career departments for over 40 years. One of the very best in every sense. RIP BROTHER, YOU WILL BE MISSED! My prayers and condolences go out to his family , all of his friends, and Brothers & Sisters in the fire service.
