Dear Jana and Dilip , Our sincere condolences to you and all of auntie s gr children and dear ones . She was such a vibrant and beautiful person inside out . I really enjoyed the little chats with her when we were privy to your gracious hospitality . Unknown people , but all of you went out of the way to make us feel at home . And most of all I remember auntie s tip on making good wholesome curd and Ot still practises the exercise she showed him to help with his back . Yes , she was a gracious and beautiful person . I hope and pray that all of you will find solace in the lovely memory of dear auntie whose heart of love we experienced even in the short time we were with her . With love and warm regards .

Dearest Lakshmi Manni was a part of our lives for as long as I can remember. She was there the day we left India from Bombay to emigrate to the US - I cherish that photo. And her remarkably elegant presence, sage advice and sharp sense of humor lit up just about every important milestone or function in our lives ever since then. Manni always encouraged me with music and dance and always spoke her mind - something I valued so greatly!! In spite of her health challenges in recent years, she was spirited, fiercely caring about all of us, helping us cope with our own travails and losses - an absolute gem of a woman. May her beautiful soul rest in peace. Sending so much love to all who knew and loved her.

“Cover it in blankets,” she said. Lakshmi Manni even sent me a newspaper clipping about protecting my fig tree in Winter. “This is Texas Manni,”- I would tease her. The figs always came back in Spring. Year after year. Until 2021. They didn’t survive the epic freeze. Maybe if I had heeded Manni’s warning, the tree would still be alive? Maybe. I had to chop the tree down yesterday. Amidst the sadness of losing Manni, I noticed a flourish of saplings at the base of the old tree. So green, full of vigor, with a promise to bear sweet figs - for years to come. Rest In Peace Manni. Your legacy lives on ♥️ Kamli

Lakshmi Manni was one of the most loving, caring, and sincere people I have ever known. In her passing, I have lost a loving sister and a dear friend. She was always there for me, sharing good times with genuine joy, and supporting me through hard times with her soothing words of wisdom and love. Manni will always hold a special place in my heart. May she continue to spread joy and peace in her next journey…
