It was a blessing to have known Lou. He helped me to be more involved with the Wilmington Area Rebuilding Ministry. He was a very giving man and a wonderful human being. Heaven just became a brighter place. Prayers for the family.

Trees are safe again in Texas. The most beautiful furniture he made for his adoring daughter, LaDonna. She and her family always loved a Texas visit from her dad and knew his fingerprints would be left on something special he made with love.

So many more great stories about a wonderful man to mention….Alyssa and Marcie took off on an airplane by themselves, in 4th grade, to visit Pap Pap in Colorado. Y’all did so many fun things with them and it was the trip of a lifetime for two little girls. We got to know Lou very well with all his trips to Texas to visit his family here. His fun stories were like no other. Lou was an amazing wood worker who was worthy of creating furniture that could be sold in a high end store. Lou’s eyes would light up when he visited LaDonna’s house because there was always so much fun there and LaDonna and Lou loved making Italian dinners for family and sometimes we were lucky enough to partake. Lou always knew when he visited LaDonna’s that there would be ample time to love on his Texas family. Mike and I will truly miss him.

Lou was a great guy he was there right when I needed him most I was a student at the gateway landing a healing place for broken men.i was privileged to remodel his bunk bed show room and get to know lou better, him and his loving wife and thier little poochie lou helped me with Christmas for my kids that where in foster care and wasn't even asked. lou knew I was on a mission to retrieve my children for what was done.some of our conversation's made me a stronger person like a father figure some were very emotional thank you lou so much and you did inspire me to continue to be strong and that was 9 years ago and me and my children today Kaden and Kaitlyn are still going strong because you gave me hope ,strength, and always said trust in God and pray about it you will be sadly missed and we send prayers and love to the family.lou do me one more huge favor tell my mother I love her so much

We met Lou and Jan at Closer Walk when it was at the Leland Middle school. Two wonderful people with big hearts. We have been blessed having them in our life. Lou will be missed by us and so many others. He was a man with a generous heart and compassion for his fellow man. Praise God for his life. Rest in peace.

Jan, I was very surprised but excited when you and Lou decided to join us in NC. In all my married life I never lived near either of my siblings so I looked forward to spending time together. I think he got annoyed with me at times, but that’s what sisters do, right? Anyway, I’m so glad we had these last 15 years (almost) together. Although there were five of us in the beginning, it’s just the two of us now to go on and we will. It will never be the same but we will always have our memories. I hope I was a help to you during this terrible time, and thank you for being there for me when I needed a helping hand or a shoulder to lean on.
